A National Academy Foundation Program
The Academy of Finance is sponsored by the National Academy Foundation and is one of over 650 academies nationwide. The National Academy Foundation model was developed with leading industry and education representatives to ensure that the curriculum and activities are both current and relevant. Students enrolled in the Academy will receive a Regents Diploma with an expanded certificate of Financial Studies issued by the National Academy Foundation.
The Academy of Business and Finance connects students with the world of financial services, offering a curriculum that covers Personal Finance, Accounting, Economics, Microsoft Office, and other topics. Students who successfully complete the AOBF requirements receive a Regents Diploma with Technical Endorsement and a certificate of Financial Studies issued by the National Academy Foundation. Students will learn transferable business skills and knowledge with a focus on the business industry. AOBF members will create an Employability Portfolio and participate in industry sponsored activities including field trips, shadow days, classroom speakers, paid internships, and may earn college credit for courses.
Students also have the opportunity to take BEEP (Business & Education Employability Portfolio). In this course students create a portfolio and learn how to make their skills and experiences a marketable commodity for colleges and employers.
Another advantage that Academy students get is the opportunity to take a variety of college courses.
