    Hello, West Seneca!

I am honored and proud to be starting the new school year in the West Seneca Central School District and working with everyone who makes education our children's first priority. My love of education and the people immersed in it has led me through 31 years in education, including 17 as the superintendent of the Depew Union Free School District and the LakeShore Central School District. I am also an Assistant Professor in the Educational Leadership Doctoral Program at D'Youville University for those who seek leadership roles in education.

I want everyone to think like an educational leader, including parents. Learning is the most important thing our children will do as they grow - and consistency, support, and constant encouragement are an integral part of that journey.

I have spent the past several weeks meeting with key individuals who make your child's education their priority, including Board Members, program directors, building administrators and union leadership, as well as community leaders and elected officials.

My goals are to learn the District’s rich history and to establish clear communications with individuals at all levels; to reach my full potential as the interim educational leader of the West Seneca School-Community; to build relationships with all constituencies through establishing mutual trust and respect, and to identify, analyze and address critical issues related to the efficient and effective operation of the West Seneca School District.

Change can be exciting and also difficult. However, with an agreed upon plan and a commitment to success, it can be accomplished efficiently and effectively. I am determined to spend a considerable amount of time during my first few months meeting people within the West Seneca School Community and getting to know and understand its comprehensive background, from student achievement, to community issues, to financial standing, to the professional development of faculty and staff.

In a district where our students are thriving in the classroom, in our extracurricular music programs, and in sports arenas, we are also taxed with making sure that the infrastructure of the district is sound and sustainable. Our buildings and grounds are in prime shape to house our students, and our district, as a whole, must offer optimal learning conditions in the most equitable ways. To that end, it has been a busy summer for our Buildings and Grounds and custodial crews as we prepare for the exciting return of students and staff next week. I hope you follow my weekly briefs for an inside look into our classrooms, events, and Capital projects this year, as well as some features on students and staff.

Please plan to meet with me and the staff of the West Seneca Schools in meaningful ways as we explore the important topics of our Reconstruction Projects, special supports and programs, and possibilities for the reconfiguration of the district as a whole. My intent is to work with the Board and entire school community through these transitional times to the best of everyone's advantage.

I look forward to working with and alongside you, with our children's future in mind.
