• Beginning in the 2025-2026 School Year:

    • ALL visitors entering the building during the school day will be required to present government-issued identification, which will be processed through our Visitor Management System.
      • This system, called the Raptor Visitor Management system, is used in schools, hospitals and day cares throughout our region and nationwide. Visitors who would like to enter our schools during the school day will be required to present government-issued identification, which will be scanned.
      • The Visitor Management system will check the identification against the National Sex Offender database and registry.
      • This system does not allow us to access Department of Motor Vehicle records or criminal records beyond those in the sex offender database.
      • Parents entrust us to maintain the safety of their students, and this is a responsibility we take seriously. Therefore, starting in the fall of the 2025-2026 school year, all visitors, including parents, service or repair technicians, contractors, etc. will be processed through this system prior to being granted entry into our schools during the school day.
      • This does not apply to public and after-school events such as concerts, school musicals, Open House, or athletics.

    • Anyone who wishes to volunteer at their student's school must travel to their specific building website and look under "Volunteer" for that additional information.

    VISITORS TO THE SCHOOLS:

Schools are a place of work and learning and, as such, certain limits must be set for visitors. The building principal is responsible for all persons in the building and on the grounds. For these reasons, the following rules apply to visitors to the schools:

    1. Anyone who is not a regular staff member or student of the school will be considered a visitor. This includes contractors, guests, and volunteers.
    2. All visitors to the school must report to the Main Office upon arrival. Each District building has a designated “Main Office” where all visitors are expected to enter with photo identification. There they will be issued a visitor’s identification badge (generated by an electronic Visitor Management System-RAPTOR), which must be worn at all times while in the school or on school grounds. The visitor must return the ID badge to the designated area before leaving the building.
    3. Visitors attending school functions that are open to the public, such as parent-teacher organization meetings or public gatherings, are not required to register.
    4. Parents, guardians or any other visitors who wish to visit the school while school is in session are required to arrange such visits in advance with the classroom teacher(s), and obtain explicit permission from the building administrator prior to any visitation.
    5. Teachers are NOT expected to take class time to discuss individual matters with visitors.
    6. Any unauthorized person on school property will be reported to the principal. Unauthorized persons will be asked to leave. The police may be called if the situation warrants.
    7. All visitors are expected to abide by the rules for public conduct on school property contained in the West Seneca Schools Code of Conduct and conduct themselves in a respectful, orderly manner.
