Welcome to Universal Pre-Kindergarten

  • -The primary purpose of our program is to provide four-year-old children with the opportunity to access high-quality prekindergarten programs that prepare them for future school success by developing strong foundational skills in early literacy and mathematics. The goal of our program is to encourage and support child-initiated, child-directed and teacher-supported activities based on a curriculum to ensure strong instructional content aligned with the NYS Learning Standards.

The Universal Pre-kindergarten Program is a grant-funded program which is renewed annually by the NYS Governor. The program will offer both  full-day and half-day options. A full-day will operate 6 hours a day and a half-day will operate 2-1/2 hours a day, 5 days a week for the length of the school year.

Student placements and locations will be determined by a digital lottery.

📌Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the pre-kindergarten program.
📌Children must be four years old on or before Dec. 1st of the year they will be starting school in order to be eligible for the program.
📌Eligible children will need their original birth certificate, physical and immunization records, and proof of residency.  You must also provide proof of parent or guardian identity (NYS Valid Driver's license or non-Driver's Identification Card).
