First district students earn Seal of Biliteracy

On June 9, the following 12th graders from West Seneca West and East Senior High Schools earned the New York State Seal of Biliteracy.

This is a new program for the district and offers special recognition to seniors who have shown outstanding proficiency skills in English and at least one other world language. This honor will appear on students’ diplomas and transcripts.

In front of an audience of teachers, counselors and administrators, each student presented two different projects – one in their native language, and one in their world language of study. This year, students presented in Spanish, French and Pashto, in addition to English.
