West students selected for All-State Performing Ensembles

Three students from West Senior High School were selected for this year's New York State School Music Association Conference All-State Performing Ensembles.

“All three students are wonderful individuals that will represent West Senior well. I am so proud of them and all of their accomplishments throughout the past several years. They deserve every accolade and this honor. I feel honored to be witnessing their high school musical journey,” said Keith Ersing, vocal teacher at West.

The students selected are Emma Hicks, mixed chorus soprano one; Talia Mobley, vocal jazz alto two; and Lucy SanGeorge, vocal jazz alto two.

The audition process was a bit different this year and the virtual format of the conference will be as well. Mobley and SanGeorge would have been in New York City performing at the Lincoln Jazz Center and Hicks would have been in Rochester performing at Eastman School of Music.

Mobley and SanGeorge are two of six altos and two of three alto twos from New York State that were selected for the vocal jazz.
