College Planning/FAFSA

Hello Senior Parents!  We will be meeting with seniors this week to discuss planning for after graduation.  We have attached the College Tip Sheet that we will be handing out, which has an abundance of information and direct links for your convenience.

It's hard to believe, but it's time to start planning for college and financial aid!!  The FAFSA form can be submitted for Financial Aid beginning October 1 and needs to be done directly online at: www.fafsa.gov.  This website also has a lot of resources to help you as well.

Because this can be a complicated process for many, we wanted to make you aware of some opportunities to receive information and ask questions about how to complete your child's FAFSA form.  The SUNY system is providing an online workshop on September 27th.  If you would like to participate you can register at:

There are also hands-on workshops through SUNY (see below) that will actually help you to complete your FAFSA form.  Registration for those can be found here: https://engage.suny.edu/portal/fafsa_workshops

Keep in mind that the sooner you submit the FAFSA form, the more opportunity for financial aid.  Each college and university has a Financial Aid Office with many trained FA experts who are willing to answer questions and provide help if you need it.  Don't hesitate to contact any college FA office that your child is applying to if you need help!
