Athletes of the Month

Boys Varsity Soccer--Coach Sztaba
I nominate Alexander Locher who is a senior at West Seneca East
Alex has been a key piece to our defense and our team. He leads by example on and off the field. He gives 150% on the field during the game, and gives that same dedication during practices. Alex works well with his team, he is a total team player and is willing to do whatever is needed in order to achieve success. No matter what the circumstance Alex always stays in a positive mindset, and works towards making sure the team is the same.

Girls Varsity Soccer--Coach Hackbarth
My athlete of the month is Madeline Boeheim, she is a senior. She is our team captain and leads by example. I put her in a lot of different positions on the field to help our team and always give 110% on the field, in practice and as a person. She had to fight through diversity when she lost a loved one close to her and still had that spark. Maddy is a pleasure to coach and all around team player which is why I nominate Maddy for athlete of the month.

Boys Varsity Football--Coach Maurino
I nominate Senior Captain Derek Hamm. Derek is an outstanding player, leader, and student. He is a large part of our 5-0 start, and is playing like an All-WNY candidate. Derek works hard everyday in practice and leads by example!

Girls Swimming--Coach Carpenter
I nominate  Natalie Weissman who is a senior at East Sr.
Natalie won the diving event at the Pioneer vs WSE swim/dive meet on Tuesday September 21st - at Pioneer - to help WSE win the meet 64-34. Natalie set a Pioneer pool record with a diving score of 247.27 for 6 dives. Her score was her personal best AND she broke the previous Pioneer pool record set by her sister Lindsay Weissman back in 2019 when Lindsay was a Senior at WSE.

Cross Country-- Coach Pepro
I nominate Chase Lisnerski who is a sophomore at East Sr. for Athlete of the Month.  Chase is a wonderful young adult.  He is at every practice, ready to run, and supportive of others.  He has improved his time at every meet we have had so far.  His dedicated attitude and amazing work ethic has allowed him to succeed on the cross country team as well as his academics.  He is a member of East Senior's Engineering Academy and is taking Advanced Placement courses. We are so happy to have him on the team!

Girls Volleyball-- Coach Koeller
I nominate Alexi Calton Peters who is a senior at west Seneca East Sr. for Athlete of the Month.  Alexi tries her best at every practice, hustles on and off the court. She is supportive of all her teammates.

I nominate Troy Ignaszak who is a senior at East Sr. and
Kaden Strong who is a junior at East Sr. for Athlete of the Month.  Both boys are great leaders on and off the court.
