    Name: Zachary Walters

    Grade: 11th

    Sport: Swimming

    Coach: Papke

In February Zachary Walters would place 4th in the 100 butterfly at ECICs earning a patch. He would finish decent at classes but excel at Sectionals held at the University of Buffalo. He would break the WEST fly record Day 1 during prelim and then re-break that record at finals while placing 4th/earning a state cut. Zach's hardwork outside of the high school experience is much to be credited for his accomplishments. His success seems to have lifted and motivated his teammates to get back in the pool and continue to work out.

Joe is perhaps the most successful male thrower to come through West Seneca West in the past 15 years.  He is the first male thrower who will compete at the state championships in my coaching tenure and he is also qualified for the Indoor National Championships in the weight throw.  None of this is by accident.  Joe has natural physical ability which he combines with a great work ethic to lead a very talented team of throwers.    I am extremely proud of him as an athlete and as the person he has developed into over the years.
