    Course Goals and Objectives:
    • to acquaint students with a variety of world literature
    • to respond to literature and support responses with examples from the written text
    • to promote organization in both written and oral tasks
    • to develop research skills and listening skills
    • to support personal opinions by using concrete examples
    • to provide creative writing and learning experiences
    • to enhance students' vocabulary and grammar skills through instruction and assignments
    • to incorporate the NYS standards into every lesson
    Reading Requirements for English I:

    Plays: "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare & "The Miracle Worker" by William Gibson
