    MARCH NEWSLETTER

    Dear Families,

Spring is hopefully just around the corner and we won’t need to worry about shoveling snow or brushing off cars……

Book orders are attached to this newsletter. They are due no later than Tuesday, March 6. Thank you to all the families who are ordering their books online at Scholastic. If you would like to order online, please go to Scholastic.com. Our online code is: GX2KH. If you need assistance, I would be happy to help you.

Easter Candy order forms were sent home by the PTA. Please have your money/check and order forms back to school no later than Friday, March 2.

There is a half day of school scheduled for Friday, March 9. Dismissal is at 11:00 a.m. Report cards will be sent home the following week.

Friday, March 16 there is no school due to Staff Development Day.

Friday, March 23 is Read and Lead. We will be in the auditorium this month. If you would like to join us, please do so by 9:00 a.m. and don’t forget to bring a book to read. Please remember to choose the child you’d like to sit with if you have one in both the gym and the aud.

At this point in the year, your child should have mastered both addition and subtraction facts. There are still a handful of students who need to keep working on them. It is very important that they can give the sum or difference with the snap of a finger. If you need flash cards, please visit the Dollar Store or let me know and I would be happy to send some home from school for you to borrow. Just a reminder that reading logs should be filled out daily. These logs are turned in every Monday for new logs and new books. Remember that your child should be reading independently at home for at least 30 minutes.

As always, I thank you for all your hard work and efforts in making your second grader feel successful!
