Chapter 8: Cell Processes

  • Chapter 8 - Cell Processes

Do you know how many cells are in the human body?  Most cells are so small that you can only see them with a microscope; this means that the average human body must contain BILLIONS of cells.  Old cells are constantly being replaced with new cells.  Every minute you lose 30,000 - 40,000 worn-out skin cells!  This means that it is tough to put an exact number on how many cells the human body actually has.  Most scientists agree that human body does contain TRILLIONS of cells!  This chapter will teach you all about not only human cells, but all cells.

    Key Questions:

    1. How do things move in and out of cells?

    2. How do cells get energy?

    3. Why are plants green?
