2011 Season

  • Despite suffering difficult defeat to top ranked teams in New York State, the Varsity Football program experience some great success this season:


    Represented WNY Section VI in the Carrier Dome Kick Off Classic

    Began a Reading Program under Coach Braunscheidel where our Varsity Football players read at our elementary schools on game days.

    Won our last three games including defeating our cross town rivals West Seneca East to bring the West Seneca Helmet back to West.  The final two victories came against Hutch Tech and 2010 AA North Champions Riverside.

    Senior Running Back Steve Riggs broke the School Single Season Rushing Record (1104 yards, 2004, Des Randall) with 1186 yards. Rushing for over 100 yards in 8 of 9 games.

    Steve Riggs was honored twice as a Connolly Cup Player of the Week

    Steve Riggs was honored as the WNYHS/WGRZ AA South Player of the Week for his 228 yard, 2 touchdown performance against West Seneca East.

    Jeremy Kelley, Class of 2006, was signed and is playing for the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League.
