Each year the West Seneca East Spirit Booster Club awards scholarships to graduating seniors to assist in their college endeavors. Thank you to the parents, students, faculty and coaches who have become members and those who support our fundraising activity throughout the year. Through support of the concession stand, Sabres ticket raffle, January Lottery numbers, and the Spring Booster Bash, our members/supporters make these scholarships possible.

The Rodney E. Whitbeck Memorial Scholarship
Rodney Whitbeck was one of the founders of the West Seneca East Booster Club and served as the Secretary until 2001, when he passed away unexpectedly. He volunteered endless hours to raise money for equipment and scholarships. He also served on the Athletic Advisory Committee for West Seneca Schools. In 2001 Rodney was inducted as an honorary member to the West Seneca Sports Wall of Fame.

This scholarship is awarded to two seniors (a male athlete and a female athlete) selected from recommendations submitted by East Senior Coaches and decided by a committee of East Senior Coaches and staff.

The Derek Falkenbach Memorial Scholarship

West Seneca East Lacrosse coach Derek Falkenbach was struck by a car on July 4 and died 10 days later as a result of his injuries on July 14, 2007. Respected and admired by his team, Derek's death was a great loss to our community. Award winners each receive a small monetary scholarship as tribute to Derek's memory and life. Winners are selected from a committee of East Senior Coaches and staff.
